The January-March 2022 issue of the BirdLife International Magazine features a superb article by Professor Peter Ryan, Director of the University of Cape Town’s FitzPatrick institute of African Ornithology and Chair of the MFM Scientific and Technical Advisory Group.

The four-page illustrated piece provides an overview of Marion Island, its incredible biological diversity and the historical relationship humans have had with the island.  Peter Ryan stresses the urgent need for conservation interventions on the island to control the introduced House Mice that are attacking the quarter of a million seabirds breeding at Marion Island.
